Walk & Talk Therapy

Therapy that meets you outdoors in motion — combining therapeutic conversation with gentle movement and connection to nature.

Walk & Talk Therapy offers an alternative to traditional office-based sessions by meeting outdoors and walking at a comfortable pace while we talk. This option can feel especially supportive for people who find movement and nature calming, or those who feel more at ease when not sitting face-to-face in an office.

What Walk & Talk Therapy Offers

Sessions are still clinically focused and confidential, just held in a different setting. Walking while engaging in therapeutic conversation can offer additional benefits that many people find meaningful:

  • Reduced anxiety and stress — physical movement and fresh air can support nervous-system regulation.

  • Increased grounding and regulation — walking rhythms and outdoor environments can help some people feel more present.

  • Support for those who prefer movement over sitting still — some clients find talking while walking feels more natural.

  • Integration of body and mind — movement can support emotional processing for some people.

Sessions can feel less formal and more like a collaborative walk — it’s still therapy, just in a setting that may feel more open and embodied.

Is Walk & Talk Therapy Right for You?

This approach may be a good fit if you:

  • Enjoy walking or spending time outdoors

  • Find traditional office environments feel too static or pressured

  • Notice that movement helps you organize your thoughts

  • Are curious about a therapy format that supports both conversation and physical presence

It’s not meant to replace deeper clinical work when that’s needed — some therapeutic topics or emotional depth work are best done in a private indoor space. If there’s ever a question about what format is most supportive, we can discuss it together.

How Walk & Talk Sessions Work

  • Sessions take place outdoors on safe, accessible walking routes that are agreed upon ahead of time.

  • We walk at a comfortable pace — breaks are welcome whenever you need them.

  • We maintain confidentiality and clinical focus throughout the session while using the outdoor setting as a supportive backdrop.

  • If weather conditions aren’t safe or comfortable, we’ll discuss alternate scheduling or transition to indoor or telehealth sessions.

Safety is always considered first — routes and pacing are chosen with your comfort and physical needs in mind.
